Hello!  My name is Evelyn Portillo and this is my very first blog post!  Through the next few months I will be posting about my thoughts on particular issues, ideas, thoughts about certain literature, and even connections to all of the above.

My word for 2019 is fruition.  The definition of fruition is: the point at which a plan or project is realized. I believe that projects, plans and aspirations in my marriage, family, ministry, and education will be accomplished. Just as the Lord wants us to be fruitful, my hearts desire is to be fruitful in every area of my life.  This word relates to my literacy journey because, when I read I learn, and what I learn, will be put into action in the classroom.  I will keep the word fruition in my mind for the next months by keeping myself accountable in all that I do.  I too hope that this is your year of fruition.
